FAQ

1.Where do I stay at the start and the end of the tour?

OR Tambo (Johannesburg): For guests arriving a day or two early we suggest the Airport Inn B&B, Emerald Backpackers or the Aero Guest lodge. Both these guest houses offer you free shuttle service to and from the airport where we will start and end our journeys. We will organize with the Guest house to drop you off and pick you up to the right place and time.

King Shaka (Durban): For guests arriving a day or two early we suggest they book in at Le Peng Guest house. We will organize with the Guest house to drop you off and pick you up to the right place and time.

3.Who is responsible for my visas

You are responsible for your own visa’s.

4.Passports

• A useful guide to finding out what visas you will need can be found on www.wikipedia.com if you search by putting in your passport ie British Passport etc. This will give you a list of visa costs and availability. Please remember though that this is a guide only and as things change it may not be 100% reliable.

• Residents of the EU (most countries), Britain, Australia, New Zealand, USA and Canada normally do not require visas before arrival however; governments being governments, the regulations can change overnight.

5.Charging electrical equipment

Our trucks are equipped with power plugs and points which should be sufficient for charging photographic or other standard equipment you might bring. In the unlikely event that this equipment experiences difficulties a 12 volt d/c adapter can also be useful, fitted with a standard cigarette lighter plug, and all necessary cables.

It is sensible to also bring an international/universal adapter to charge any equipment from mains power.

6.Can I listen to my music on the truck ?

Apart from being able to charge your ipod & MP3 Player you will also be able to connect it to our music system allowing your sound to be heard through the truck’s speakers.

7.Can I use my Credit Card whilst on the trip

There are quite a few places where you can draw out local money. But take care as your card can easily be stopped with the unusual use abroad (as a bank security measure). Which means you may have to get on the phone home to get it unlocked . As a precaution, before travelling ring your bank and tell them where you are going and when you will be away.

8.Who will the crew be?

For most of the trips I will be your tour guide. My name is Wian Marais. I have travelled through Africa over the past 10 years and know all its ins-and-outs. Im passionate about the wild and about people and will make sure that Moya Tribe offer you a once in a lifetime experience.
